As we transition into a new year and new season MINZA launches a variety of new handmade clutches and shoulder bags to go with any look. On Feb. 9 MINZA collaborated with a Tennessee based designer, Tiena Gwin for her clothing line TIENA. Gwin’s clothes are bold in color and print but also highly versatile like Khan’s bags.
Both designers took the runway on Feb. 9 at the prestigious Prince George Ballroom located between Fifth and Madison Avenues. The event showcased emerging designers from all over the world. This year was Gwin’s third show for New York Fashion Week while it was Khan’s second show. Together they styled twelve looks with TIENA clothing and MINZA clutches.
“We wanted our bags to be displayed in a way to help women visualize how they could carry our bags with any look,” Khan said. “This year we focused on creating a line with embossed croc leather for an edgy feel while we also decided to source cubic zirconia beads to embellish our bags with. They are known to be even better than Swarovski crystals.”
After working in the media industry, Khan decided to pursue her passion full time. MINZA bags were created in 2016 to fill a void in the market for bold yet uniquely elegant clutches that are not factory made. The collection consists of many different colors and styles.
“We wanted to make sure that there was something for everyone,” Khan said. “We have bags with a pop of color and more ornate, while others are neutral and simple in silhouette and design.”
After getting laid off from her job in while pregnant with her second child, Gwin decided to put her energy into her lifelong dream of becoming a designer. TIENA was also launched in 2016.
TIENA clothes are made in the United States of America and are sustainably produced in a small batch process. Her prints are printed using dyes that are environmentally friendly.

Gwin says the bags go beautifully with the looks that she has created. “Everyone loved the outfits and the bags,” Gwin said.
Khan says she wants women to embrace their unique fashion sense and step out of their comfort zone. “Ditch the bulky bag and treat yourself to affordable luxury. I will make sure you get more than what you paid for,” Khan said. “Our customer service will blow you away and products are uniquely crafted just for you. To compete with major retailers like Amazon we make sure the bag is at your door in two to three days.”
